AD outlines plans for indoor facility despite deficit

Southern Ohio’s fielding woes are beginning to take a toll on the team’s performance on the field. The Copperheads have committed 18 errors in their last five games.

The Ohio men’s basketball team found a new coach just a week after the previous one left. Ohio Athletic Director Jim Schaus introduced former Ohio State assistant coach John Groce as Ohio’s new basketball coach Friday.

Guard Jackie Hiebert is transferring from Ohio to the University of South Dakota, according to an announcement yesterday from South Dakota coach Ryun Williams.

New Ohio men's basketball coach John Groce was introduced today at The Convo. Groce, an assistant at Ohio State for the last four years, replaces former coach Tim O'Shea just a week after he took the same job at Bryant University.

John Groce, associate head coach at Ohio State, will officially replace former Ohio men's basketball coach Tim O'Shea tomorrow at a 1 p.m. newsconference. Groce has worked as an assistant for 14 years, the last eight under Ohio State Head Coach Thad Matta.

After an hour and forty-five minute rain delay at Bob Wren Stadium, the Copperheads got back on the winning track last night.

When Copperhead starter Zach Fairbanks lasted just four innings, Southern Ohio coach Ted Tom turned to his bullpen, which threw five hitless innings in the team’s 7-4 comeback victory over the Stark County Terriers (6-3).

Tim O’Shea, on the sidelines during the game on January 29, 2006, left his position as the Ohio men’s basketball coach after seven seasons to return back to his roots on the East Coast. O’Shea recently said that he believes associate head coach John Rhodes would be a good fit to take his previous position.
