Guard Jackie Hiebert is transferring from Ohio to the University of South Dakota, according to an announcement yesterday from South Dakota coach Ryun Williams.

Hiebert will leave the Bobcats after one season, in which she averaged 2.3 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game. The Maple Grove, Minn., native played in 29 games for the Bobcats and started in five.

"Ohio women's basketball wishes Jackie nothing but the best in her move to
South Dakota," said coach  Semeka Randall in a release. "She'll be happy moving a little closer to home and should be a fine addition to the Coyote program."

South Dakota is a Division II program that finished 33-2 last season, reaching the National Championship game.

Next season, the Coyotes will begin the transition to Division I play. Hiebert will have to sit out a season because of South Dakota’s move to Division I and will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in the 2009-2010 season.

Hiebert is the second Ohio player to transfer in as many years, joining guard Rachel Frederick who transferred to Duquesne following the 2006-2007 season.
