[AIDS awareness walk]

Two-hundred participants in the second annual AIDS awareness walk, organized by Promoting OU Wellness Education and Responsibility form a red ribbon by the Richland Avenue bridge Saturday. Char Kopchick, the Director of Health Education and Wellness, said the group hopes the walk will raise awareness for students.


Fire decimates Crawford Hall room; no one hurt

Fire destroyed a fourth floor Crawford Hall room Saturday afternoon, leaving one OU freshman temporarily homeless and causing $9,000 in damage, according to the OU Police Department.


8 arrests in bust

Eight OU freshmen were arrested Thursday night for allegedly selling various types of drugs to an undercover agent in separate incidents.
Agents from the Major Crime Task Force, formerly Southeast Counties of Ohio Narcotics Task Force, and officers from OU Police Department issued seven felony arrests and one misdemeanor arrest, and plan to arrest at least one more student for his part in the incidents, said Ted Jones, OU director of the Department of Campus Safety.

Freshman Keith Noble Jr., whose body was recovered from the Hocking River Wednesday after he had been missing for 12 days, drowned April 25, the night he disappeared, according to a preliminary autopsy report released Friday by the Franklin County Coroner's Office.
