TRIPS gets overhaul

     When students call TRIPS to register for Winter Quarter classes, they may not hear a busy signal.

     Computer Services and Communication Network Services increased the number of TRIPS phone lines from 48 to 60 to increase student access to the system, registrar Bill Jones said.

     Computer Services and CNS now update the Campus Information System, which includes TRIPS, and course offerings available on the World Wide Web four times a day instead of three, Jones said.

     Faculty members were concerned CIS and WWW course information were not up-to-date, complicating the process of finding open classes for students, according to the report of the 12-faculty member TRIPS Demand Analysis Committee OU Provost Sharon Brehm formed last winter .
