The Ohio baseball team's trip to Bowling Green this weekend was one of those few huge opportunities teams get to claim first place during the course of a season.

Consider Ohio's first-place opportunity, for now at least, lost. The Bobcats (16-22 overall, 7-9 in the Mid-American Conference) lost all four against the Falcons (24-16, 13-5), 4-0 and 5-3 in Saturday's doubleheader and 13-7 and 7-3 in yesterday's doubleheader.

Ohio's losses push it back firmly into fourth place in the East behind Bowling Green, Kent and Miami. The top three teams in each MAC division advance to the MAC Tournament, which begins May 19.
