New Alexander schools fund earmarked for donations by Amanda Iacone FOR THE POST
The Alexander School Board created a new fund to deposit large donations at last night's meeting.
This Expandable Trust fund will not be used for aspecific purpose. It was created to hold donations earmarked for specific uses separate from the district's general fund.
Donations from the Parent Teacher Organization and the Ohio Educational Support Group will be moved to the new fund.
The district accepted two new donations. One from the PTO totals $16,000 and will be used for computers. The other from the Ohio Educational Support Group totals $6,000 and will be used for preschool utilities.
The board also adopted the mission statement from the Continuous Improvement Plan - developed by the district's teachers. The plan describes the Alexander school district's plans for the future. The district hopes to use the mission statement on letterheads and to post it in all the buildings to publicize the district's goals.
