Homecoming brings win for Bobcats
by Rob Peirce
THE POST

Ohio's 17-14 victory over Bowling Green in Saturday's football game was one of many events welcoming alumni home to Ohio University and Athens this weekend.

In a season centered around youth movement, the younger generation took a step in the right direction as three usual substitutes took center stage in Ohio's win.

Two red-shirt freshmen started in the backfield which eased the way for sophomore quarterback Dan Jordan, who stepped in after starting quarterback Dontrell Jackson was forced out of the game with a severe shoulder sprain.

Jordan, tailback Chad Brinker and fullback Joe Sherrill combined for 235 yards rushing and a touchdown. The touchdown came from Sherrill, who led the way with 100 yards on the ground.
