Wisconsin woman dies in motorcycle accident
A woman from Wisconsin died Friday after her motorcycle
crashed on Athens County Road 25.
Leonides D. McCoy, 34, of Sheboygan, Wis., was driving east with her husband Benjamin, 34, when she lost control on a curve, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol news release. Her motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road and hit a bridge abutment. Both passengers were thrown from the motorcycle. Neither was wearing a helmet.
The McCoys were taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, where Benjamin McCoy was treated and released. Leonides McCoy was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where she died, according to the release.
Alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the release.
