Sex, Love, and Kung fu
by Jason Zingale
"When I was 15, I invited a girl to watch a movie...and
lost my virginity. Strangely enough, it was Enter the Dragon."
This monologue does not depict the reviewer, but rather the director
and narrator of the amusing short, Sex, Love, and Kung fu. Apparently
he scored during the exciting Bruce Lee epic.
Kip Fulbeck helms this project and takes the audience on a festive
ride through the millions of channels to surf, until finally finding a
program worth watching - kung fu, America's late night pastime.
Another fanatic joins Fulbeck in the search to find kung fu on which
to comment. While beginning their quest for a worthy channel, they come
upon "the greatest movie of all time," Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon.
They also attempt to destroy any credible reputation of David Carradine
and finish with their ode to Brandon Lee's terrible taste in scripts.
All in all, Sex, Love, and Kung fu is the laugh-out-loud result
of narration heard over the TV, two guys commenting on all aspects of
kung fu films and how kung fu will always affect the lives of millions.
