Club upset by Dayton

The Ohio men's volleyball club was upset in the quarterfinals of the Seventh All-Ohio Classic at Ohio Northern on Sunday.

The club was beaten by Dayton, which was seeded lower than the Bobcats. After finishing preliminary play with a No. 1 seed, the Bobcats suffered the consequences of getting behind early to Dayton.

During preliminary play the Bobcats beat Cincinnati, avenging a loss earlier this season. The Bobcats lost a tight match to Ohio State and sent Bowling Green’s second team packing before losing to the Flyers.

Outside hitter John Hogan led the Bobcats with six solo stuff blocks. Ben Gielow contributed with seven service aces.

Ohio’s highest finish in the All-Ohio Classic was in 1999, when the Bobcats placed second.
