Sibs in for a treat this weekend with hip-hop star

Amidst all the sibs craziness this weekend, there is a chance to entertain the hip-hop fans with Chicago's latest musician.

Common will be performing at 8 p.m. on Saturdayat the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $17 for students and $22 for non-students and available at the MemAud box office. Slum Village will be the opening act.

Common's latest album, ••Like Water for Chocolate•• addresses issues such as fatherhood and racism. Singles released from the album are "The Light" and a remix of "Ghetto Heaven," featuring Macy Gray. Slum Village released last year their debut album, ••Fantastic Vol. 2.••

Members from the show's sponsor, the Black Student Cultural Programming Board, are excited to play host to the show.

"We knew he was big, so when we found he would do it, we were really excited," said Talitha Robinson, public relations committee chair from BSCPB. "Slum Village are on (Common's) new CD, so it will be a good blend."
