OU senior pleads guilty to drug-related charges

An Ohio University senior pleaded guilty to possessing LSD Feb. 9.

Howard E. Lyon, 22, of Mansfield Road, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of LSD in Judge Michael Ward's courtroom in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas, according to a news release from the Athens County Prosecutor's Office.

The charge stemmed from an arrest on Sept. 28,1999 by the Athens Police Department. Lyon had been released while a pre-sentence investigation was conducted, according to the release.

He also was evaluated for treatment instead of conviction, according to the release.

Lyon was unable to be reached for comment.
