Nelson Mini Mall opens
Today begins the official grand opening
of the Nelson Mini Mall in Nelson Commons on South Green.
For the next week, students can sign up for daily giveaways, including
drawings for mountain bikes, 12-packs of soda, Ohio University mugs
and meals, according to an OU news release. Drawings are open to the
public and can be entered by filling out a form at Nelson, Boyd or
Shively convenience stores.
The mini mall offers food at Smart Mouth
Pizza and Sunset Strips. The eateries allow students to eat fast-food
pizza and chicken using their meal plans.
CopyCat Plus, a copy center operated by OU Printing Resources, offers
black and white digital copies, transparencies, faxing and some laminating
and binding services in the mini mall.
Another shop featured at the mini mall is Food We Love, specializing
in locally made goods such as food and clothing. ACEnet, a local small-business
company, manages the store to promote local crafters and food producers.
The mini mall is a convenient addition to South Green, residents
said.
"I live in Brown Hall, so this will be really convenient. I
won’t have to walk Uptown to get some fast food,"OU freshman
Rachel Bowen said.
