Service held for OU junior
A funeral for Ohio University junior Jarrod Wilkinson
was held yesterday in Bethesda, Ohio.
Wilkinson, 28, was pronounced dead at his home Friday night from
a gunshot wound to the head, according to an Athens County Sheriff's Office
news release. Athens County Coroner Scott Jenkinson said a coroner's
report has not yet been completed, and an autopsy report will be available
in six to eight weeks.
"The thing I'm interested in are toxicology studies," he said.
Wilkinson, of 11130 Rainbow Lake Road in Athens, is survived by his
wife, Celise Roxby Wilkinson, an OU student; his father, Paul K. Wilkinson
Jr., and his wife, Pat, of Wheeling, W.Va.; his mother, Susan J. Piegan
Shumaker of Bethesda, Ohio; and three brothers, Paul K. Wilkinson III
and Michael M. Wilkinson of Loomis, Ohio, and Seth Shumaker of Bethesda.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Nature Conservancy, c/o
Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Box 26, Bethesda, OH 43719.
Alan Flickinger, Athens County sergeant of investigations, and Athens
County Sheriff Vern Castle did not return phone calls about the investigation.
