Club captures third at tourney

The Ohio men's volleyball club team tied for third place at the 2001 Toledo Tournament on Sunday.

Lacking three of their normal starters, the Bobcats were led on the day by Ben Gielow, who posted seven service aces and a .447 hitting percentage for the tournament. John Hogan and Justin Bays also pitched in with solid net play and four service aces each.

The Bobcats beat a talented Toledo Alumni team, lost to tournament host and eventual champion Toledo, and sent Bowling Green packing in the quarterfinals before losing to Cincinnati in the semifinals. Ohio travels to Ohio Northern on Sunday for the seventh annual All-Ohio Classic.
