Web site to foster communication among alums

A redesigned Web site for Ohio University alumni will make it easier for former classmates to contact one another and more convenient for graduating students to contact alumni.

The site, http://www.ohiou.edu/alumni/, has been redesigned over the past year and was posted online last week, said Ralph Amos, executive director of OU’s alumni relations.

Over the next eight months, several interactive features will be phased into the site to create better alumni communications.

These will include an online directory and alumni news. Alumni groups will be able to use the site to send e-mail to members.

Amos said the site will be useful to OU students as well.

“It’s also a great tool for graduating students because we do list all of our alumni chapters that are geographically based around the world,” he said. “They can get contacts wherever they might be going. Alumni are so helpful with new graduates.” 

OU Communication Marketing, in the Division of Advancement, designed the new site, Amos said.
