Green and White Banquet set
The Ohio University Green and White Club has scheduled
its 38th Annual Green and White Club Senior Recognition Banquet for May
22 at Nelson Commons.
The Green and White Club has honored senior student-athletes, trainers,
managers and cheerleaders for the past 38 years. Special community presentations
and awards, including the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, are presented
at the banquet.
A reception and cash bar begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and
a program at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $18, and can be purchased through the Ohio ticket office
by calling (740) 593-1300 or 1-800-575-CATS (2287). Checks should be payable
to The Green and White Club.

Golfer wins MAC award
Ohio men's golfer A.T. Spires and Kent golfer Ben Curtis were named
the Mid-American Conference Co-Golfers of the Week on May 3.
Spires shot a season-low 216 (72-73-71) to finish fourth at the Penn
State/Rutherford Intercollegiate. He improved his score by 23 strokes
from the previous week's tournament, and his score was nine strokes better
than his other spring outings. The Bobcats finished third as a team, with
their season-best score of 882.
Curtis was third at the Spartan Invitational with a 215 (71-73-71),
only four strokes off the winning total. He has finished in the top four
in Kent's last three tournaments.

Three-on-three tournament planned
The Athens County Red Cross is holding a three-on-three basketball
tournament May 12. Games run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the courts behind
McCracken Hall. The entrance fee is $3 per person or $9 per team, and
the winners will receive a $30 gift certificate from The Pigskin Bar and
