OU elected to PRSSA National Board

Ohio University junior Kelly McNab was elected to the Public Relations Student Society of America National Committee as the 2000-2001 head of Internships and Job Services.

McNab has been the national delegate for OU’s PRSSA chapter for the two years. She has been involved in PRSSA for three years.

"I was thrilled. Words can’t even describe how excited and relieved I was to hear I had won," McNab said in a news release. "I was in total shock and awe, but I’ll never forget that moment."

McNab’s responsibilities include updating current and new internship as well as job listings on JobWeb, found on the PRSSA national site. She also will recruit new companies to the list of internships and jobs on JobWeb, compile and update a career online manual for PRSSA manuals and will communicate with 40 other chapters from across the United States.

To run for a national position, delegates are required to fill out an application and write a brief paragraph about why they feel they would be good for the position. They must also include a letter of recommendation, write an essay about their favorite leader and give a five-minute speech at the national conference followed by a 15-minute question and answer session.
