The Athens County Sheriff's Office arrested a 48-year-old
man Wednesday for filming two young girls from his car.
Wayne Lee, of Vienna, W.Va., was arrested after the girls' father
filed a complaint against Lee, who videotaped the father's daughters,
said Sgt. Allen Flickinger of the sheriff's office. Lee drove from Strouds
Run State Park after the father confronted him. He was arrested at the
intersection of East State Street and state Route 33.
Lee was released and has not been charged, said C. David Warren, Athens
County prosecutor. He said he expects Lee to be charged with voyeurism,
a first-degree misdemeanor.
If convicted, Lee faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, Warren
said.
Flickinger declined to give the girls' ages.
"(The prosecutor's office and the sheriff's office) haven't gotten
together on this one yet," Warren said.
Warren, who took office in January, said this is the first time he
has seen a case like this in Athens.
"This is a new one for me."
