High Street fire results in second death
A former Hocking College student died Wednesday after
several days in the intensive care unit at the Ohio State University Medical
Center.
Travis Frymoyer, 21, of Centerville, died at approximately 11 p.m.
Wednesday, said David Crawford, OSU Medical Center spokesman. He died
from injuries suffered early Saturday morning in a fire at 60 N. High
St.
After firefighters arrived at the scene, Frymoyer was taken to O'Bleness
Memorial Hospital and later transported to OSU Medical Center. He was
listed in critical condition throughout the week with severe burns.
The fire, which also killed Ohio University senior Jamie Dutko, appeared
to start from a power strip under a computer desk. The cause of the fire
was accidental and electrical in nature, according to an Athens Fire Department
report.
