OU to offer term-based online classes for first time

Beginning Winter Quarter, Ohio University will offer term-based online classes for the first time.

The OU Division of Lifelong Learning initiated this online program, which will offer 14 classes this winter and between 12 to 30 classes in following quarters.

The Division of Lifelong Learning has offered summer online courses to students in the past, but this year it has decided to extend the program to include the other academic quarters.

These classes will cover a variety of studies, ranging from math to business. Enrollment in these classes is guaranteed.

Cost for these classes is the same as traditional university courses. Students who do not attend OU must apply for non-degree admission.

Students who are enrolled at OU are able to sign up for online classes through TRIPS, OU's telephone and web registration program. Students looking for more information about the online program or who want to apply for classes can access the program's Web site, http://www.ohiou.edu/winteronline/, or call (740) 593-2583.
