High-scoring week nets award
Cleveland - Forward Jen Barber was named Mid-American
Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week on Oct. 23.
She tallied three goals and four assists in two wins against the
Western Michigan Broncos and the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Barber scored two goals and added an assist in the 4-0 victory against
the Broncos on Oct. 20. She registered a goal and three assists two days
later in the 7-2 win against the Huskies. The three assists in a game
tied a school record held by Mindy Boggs since 1998.
Barber has played in 15 games for the Bobcats this season scoring
six goals and adding four assists.

Costa named assistant coach
Softball head coach Roanna Brazier announced the hiring of Andrea
Costa as an assistant coach. Costa fills the spot vacated earlier this
year when assistant coach Jennifer Jimerson took a coaching position at
Missouri Southern State.
Costa joins the Bobcats softball program from the University of Bridgeport
in Connecticut. She served as head coach of the Division II softball program,
assistant women's volleyball coach and university admission recruiter
last year. Her responsibilities with the softball team included recruitment,
practice and game scheduling, strength and conditioning, fund raising,
budgeting, academic advising, field maintenance, travel arrangements and
counseling.
Her other coaching duty was at Fairfield University in Connecticut
from 1990 to 1995, where she was the head women's softball and volleyball
coach and the assistant recreation director of activities for the Division
I school.
