Nelsonville woman sentenced on several charges
A Nelsonville woman has been sentenced in her jury
trial after being found guilty on several charges last week.
Dorothy Dillon, 40, formerly of Poplar St., was sentenced Wednesday
in Athens County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Alan Goldsberry sentenced Dillon to 10 years for both one count
of aggravated burglary and for one count of complicity of aggravated robbery,
both first-degree felonies, said C. David Warren, Athens County prosecuting
attorney. Dillon received eight years for both one count of complicity
of felonious assault and one count complicity of kidnapping, second-degree
felonies, he said.
These are the maximum sentences for the charges.
Dillon's sentences for the complicity of felonious assault, complicity
of kidnapping and complicity of aggravated robbery charges will be served
concurrently. The 10-year aggravated burglary sentence is to be served
in addition, meaning Dillon will serve 20 years, Warren said.
Dillon's charges stemmed from a July 30 incident in which Dillion,
her son Hi Hogan Dillon Jr., 18, also formerly Poplar St., and alleged
accomplice Malcolm Cornell are accused of robbing a Nelsonville
man of between $800 and $1,000.
