Man injured in tractor accident
An Albany man was injured Tuesday after his tractor
rolled on him while he was mowing his lawn.
William Stanley, of Parkers Road, got too close to
a creek bank and rolled his tractor into the bank, said Albany Fire Department
Chief Warren Keirns.
The Athens County Sheriff's Office was dispatched
at 4:22 p.m. and the Albany Fire Department received a call at 4:25 p.m.
"He possibly was pinned under the tractor for
at least an hour," he said.
A neighbor said he heard Stanley yelling for help
and found him in the creek bed with the tractor on top of him.
"A neighbor found him and called in," Keirns
said. "Nine of our firemen responded to the accident, and together
the fire department and the neighbor got the tractor off."
Keirns said the firemen hooked a chain to a pick-up
truck to move the tractor off the victim.
SEOEMS transferred Stanley to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
He was admitted for observation and is in good condition, said Kristi
Bownkowski, spokesperson for O'Bleness Hospital.
