Honors Convocation scheduled for Saturday
- Ohio University students can use their meal plans
to eat one helping of food at a buffet in Peden Stadium starting at
12:30 p.m., before Ohio's kickoff against the University of Akron.
- A discussion titled "Hispanic-Americans: One
or Many Cultures?" will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 in the Lindley
Cultural Center as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
- A swing dance formal will be hosted by the OU
Jitterbug Club from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sept. 29 in the Baker Center Ballroom.
The dance is open to all OU students and free swing lessons will be
provided at 8 p.m. The cost is $6 at the door or $4 for students dressed
in swing-dancing clothes.
- Marilyn S. Greenwald, OU professor of journalism,
is an Ohioana Library Association award recipient.
Ohioana, an organization dedicated to encourage and recognize creative
accomplishments by Ohioans or about Ohio, will award Greenwald the Florence
Roberts Head Ohioana Book Award on Oct. 21 for her book, A Women of
the Times: Journalism, Feminism, and the Career of Charlotte Curtis.
